Totally new to this and would like to know some different options I got. so i would like to know some set-ups you guys recommend for a cnc plasma table. I won't have a ton of money but I also don't want something that is flimsy and crap in general..So if you guys could shoot me a couple different options so I can do some reading and research on the different types of machines and maybe even software I would appreciate it.JerodHypertherm 30Miller Syncrowave 200Millermatic 140and a propane torch and hanger if all else fails
Reply:Dont have one and no experience with any, but the go to guy on this would be Jim Colt.  You may give him a holler on the Hypertherm thread or shoot him a PM.  Good luck.A few of my toys !LinuxMintManjaroMiller Roughneck 2E Lincoln WeldPak 100HTP MTS 160 Chicago Electric 80amp Inverter   Victor O/A

Reply:Originally Posted by GOT14UI figure he will probably chime in...wasn't sure how much he knew about these machines tho.Ya I don't think hypertherm sells the whole thing..but I will definitely have a hypertherm for the plasma it's self. I have found a couple different ones on the web they are Tracker, the torchmate you talk about and then multi cam also...not sure how to judge these things and software  as well.
Reply:I don't know anything about plasma cam tables, but the Powermax 45 also has the quick release removable torch like the Miller 875.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:I hadn't thought of that.....He is definitely knowledgeable, I definitely listened to him and got a hypertherm last time we talked. Originally Posted by smawgmawI dont believe they sell them either.  I think he has his own set up in his own shop.  As being an employee of hypertherm who markets units for cnc plasma table setups, Im sure he could give you an idea of a bunch options/manufacturers for you to consider.  One thing from reading his posts I have found is that he is a straight shooter with up to date knowledge and no BS involved.
Reply:There are over 85 companies worldwide that produce and sell cnc plasma machines for use with a plasma torch. These different companies produce machines that are sized from 24" x 24" cutting bed travel to as much as 70' x 400' of travel. There are also a lot of different choices for plasma from 30 Amps to 1000 amps, air plasma and multigas high definition class plasma systems for cutting from gage materials to 6" thick stainless steel. Most likely you are thinking of entry level, low cost cnc plasma machines...there are quite a few of those as well.PlasmaCam, Bulltear mfg., Torchmate, Tracker Cnc, Dynatorch, just to name a few. If you provide more details regarding your cutting bed size requirements, cut accuracy needs and material type and thickness needs I could help steer you in the right direction. Best regards, Jim Colt
Reply:I should know to add more info to my posts by now..lolhere it goes I would like a 4'x8' table I would not worry about cutting anything over 3/16" or 1/4 " max. It will be more for hobby and light work...I am picturing it more for decals and logos...sorta nick nack stuff. so accuracy would not be a major problem. As for material just your normal mild steel, stainless steal, and aluminum maybe.thanks again for sharing your knowledge !!!!
