If I weld on the trailer of an engine driven welder do I need to run a ground cable from the equipment grounding terminal on the machine to a metal rod driven into the earth ground?
Reply:That ground terminal is intended for ground on the generator output.
Reply:I was worried about welding current somehow running through the machine and frying components.
Reply:That terminal has no effect on welding ground. Be sure to ground your work ground directly to what you are welding.
