I have been picking up some more work during my downtime in between plant shut downs and refinery turnarounds.  I am looking for generator that can run my Miller CST 280 and some extra hand tools( angle grinders, drills, etc)  What woul;d be my best bet to go with?  I only do SMAW and TGAW.all I want in my life are....... white castle cheese burgers
Reply:Bobcats are very good generators for powering other welding machines.  You can do quite alot with 10KW's of genny power on the truck.   With the constant voltage output, you can run a voltage sensing wire feeder from the Bobcat as well.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:i bought a generac 8kw last week for a little over a grand. i have about 18 hours or run time off it so far. running a dynasty 200, millermatic 211, and a spectrum 375 so far so good. I dont run the grinders and everything all at once i shut things down here and there. but the radio is always going when the welder is and no problems. the things i dont like would be that its louder than the miller engine driven welders, and the honda or milwaukee genees. other than that i cant complain about it.
