My version of Valentine's Day..............

This thing called Valentine's Day has always been a pain for me...... starting with my first ever girlfriend........I find the whole thing so trite.......Dinner at a place that jacks the prices up 10% and then adds tables..... so you pay more to be more crowded...... or flowers that will die within a week.......Blah.....But.... this year I decided to join two things I care about very much...... Peg..... and welding......Here is what I have decided on for this year........Using scrap that needed a purpose........PICS.....Precision TIG 185 and MP 210Bobcat 225NTCutmaster 42O/A tanks.... 2 Argon tanks...... 2 C25 TanksFacebook...... Reply:Hey Fex,Looking good.I had my boys making name tags for school bags a couple of weeks ago with my stamps on some ally - brought back some memories like yours, stamping everything in sight.a few tips for letter stamping - scribe a line to follow with the square of the punch, use the most substantial backer/bench you can, use a big hammer and strike once.Cheers mate,Justin45+ years of accumulated fabrication junk - both physical and mental.....  occasionally some of it is vaguely useful.

Reply:Looks good FEXAL !   Why LINCOLN RED ?    If you want to keep the stamped letters on the same plane, clamp a piece of angle like 1x1 or so and set each punch against it.  Not knit pickin just saying .

Reply:OK, here's my version of the Valentine gift. I plan to get it engraved but the weather has prevented that. I will take it next week.Just think of the scratches as "character, shows it to be hand-made". All aluminum, TIG.
