I figured this was the best forum to post this interesting find in. To me, it's worthy of mentioning here because it involves steel and a now "dead" American steel manufacturing giant. I wish I could use this for an outdoor shed project. This stuff was heavy and pretty thick. It says "064 ga" on it, so I'm thinking ".064 = 16ga." In my hands however, it felt like it was 1/8" stuff at least. Extremely heavy and no way could one person get each sheet into a truck without help. It could be all the galvanized zinc it was dipped in however that made it thicker. These were roughly 10-ft long each. It's been abandoned for some time (stamped "1980") and I think Kaiser Steel closed down in 1983-ish. I wish I could drive my truck up there for it (with permission of course ). "Kaiser Steel" and "Made in the USA." Reply:2 oz of hot dip would be about 80 thousands thick, so you're probably right about the gauge.

Reply:T posts there two. Probably someone did, or was supposed to do a flume off the end of a culvert or water bar some wheres. Most likely 'supposed to' but didn't is why it is still there. "The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
Reply:I would imagine it's for a log flume or culvert. Kaiser made a lot of culverts with that stock in the past. You can still buy galv or AL culvert, but ADS pipe has pretty much taken over, unless there is little ground cover, or large diameter.
Reply:Interesting reading the replies here. See, I knew there would be members here that could add to this story of these Kaiser artifacts. .
