I'm involved in a project that is going to require a fair amount of Mig welding.Up until now I've spent all my time learning how to be a a really good stick welder and I've messes around with Tig some too. I've been researching as much as I can trying to get up to speed on the Mig, but with the older Hobart machine the shop uses I don't think much beyond the basics apply for now. That bring me to gas. The shop wants to order some kind of "TRI_MIX" gas for the process and has a good deal of .35 wire on hand they would prefer to use. It's going to be out of position welding all on 1/4" plate steel, so spray is probably out. Anyway I ran across this site- http://www.weldreality.com/MIG_welding_gases.htm - giving an opinion on gas selection and thought I'd run it by you guys before taking it as gospel. If you would, take a look at it and tell me what you think. BTW, I found this thread - http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?28968-Spray-Arc -to be a great source of info on spry welding -thanksGizzmoSyncrowave 250 CK aircooled tig
