I have been hunting for decently priced RFC-23a for a while now with no luck I need a foot control! Is there any other options has anyone ever used another rheostat type pedal with the Dialarc? Is there a finger control option or is that newer tech? I need something to make my aluminum and stainless easier its tough without remote control. Let me hear any ideas, tips, or if you have an RFC-23a or a lead on one. Thanks guys
Reply:When I was looking for my foot control I searched craigslist and ebay - I contacted some people selling random miller tig parts from 330 a/bp welders (and Airco 300) and one had an extra pedal he had not listed.Expect to pay $100-175 for a used one.Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.
Reply:I don't know if it is OK to go off on a tangent here? A Dialarc 250 HF is transformer, HF comes from spark gaps. If I ignore efficiency, can it measure up to performance of adjustable frequency, balance inverters, or is this a dinosaur? My obsession is TIG aluminum. In this machine how high is "high frequency"? I guess AC balance to be 50%. Should I live with that or bite the bullet and go for a Dynasty?
Reply:Unless I miss my guess, if you go back to the Dialarc HF and the like, you are talking sine wave. Not even the slightly newer squarish wave of welders like the Syncrowave and etc. And they can't switch nearly as fast as the inverters, which opens up a whole new dimension."USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder
Reply:I thought so. How much can you spend? The more I learn, the more it costs. I think I need a dynasty 280. The cost is staggering! That's life.
Reply:Thanks for the replies fellas |
