Hai Friends,Suggest suitable welding torch and process to carry stellite (Cobalt Base material) welding on 32mm Bore size of a sleeve having length of 100mm, The finish layer thickness will be 2mm and final bore size will be maintained as 28mm.Kindly suggest where we can procure suitable torches and welding machine for the above application. Thanks in advance.RegardsSREENIVAS
Reply:So to be clear- you wand to suface harden the inside of a pipe witha 32mm bore with a material known as "stellite" for a 100mm length. That sounds like a clading type operation. I'm unfamilliar with it but you might try this link as a start. http://www.innoweld.at/index_1188_11...672_2_0__.htmlIt would seem on the surface that some type of submerged welding equip may also do the trick if the stellite works with the process and is availabe in a powder.GizzmoLast edited by gizzmo; 01-04-2014 at 09:13 AM.Syncrowave 250 CK aircooled tig
Reply:Holy heck.......32mm diam bore 100mm long....forget it......with no experience it ain't gonna happen. You would be better just pressing in a hardened sleeve if you only want a hardened bore.Ian.
Reply:With the cracking problems you will already have trying to weld with Stellite, welding the inside of a bore is just going to make it even more difficult. |
