Hello everyone, this is my first post, I'm glad I finally joined, lots of useful information on here. I recently just purchased a Everlast 160sth TIG/Arc welder earlier this week, and should be having in my home shop Tuesday, my question is, it has high frequency start, and comes with a switch activated torch, I would like to use a foot pedal with this machine, but brand new from Everlast is a bit much for me right now, is it possible to use any 7-pin connector foot pedal with this machine? Or do I have to use the one that is offered from Everlast? Say, can I use a Miller Maxstarr pedal, or will the internal wiring be different, or will it not matter, and should work? Cause I understand that all the foot pedal is, is a remote rheostat, and that the only problem that I can foresee running in to is the internal wiring of the foot pedal. Any insight or recommendations will be helpful. Thank you.
Reply:Everyone uses different potentiometer values and some use different amounts of wiring. Some use 5, some use 7 wires etc. Some also use more than 1 switch.See if SSC makes one for that machine.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
