miller spectrum 875 autoline- 800 bucks!

ok now that i have your attention i found a miller spectrum 875 on craigs list for 800 bucks but catch is it dosent have a torch with it. im going wensday to look at it the guy seams pretty cool. and is willing to plug it in for me to make sure every thing lights up and turns on. but with out a gun is there any thing else i should checkout on it? look for? it looks from the pictures to be in good shape. i really dont want to buy a torch till i get the machine.trailblazer 302 spoolmatic 25a with wc-24thermal arc 161s tig rigmillermatic 200dialarc 250 hf tig rig with spool gun and boxand wanting more......
Reply:You might talk to your LWS and see if they have a torch you can borrow/rent to test it out. I'd be really leery about buying a unit I can't fully test. Option #2 would be to make arrangements with the seller to have a local repair shop go over the unit before you buy.If we knew where you were located, someone here might be willing to loan/rent you their torch for the test..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:I wonder why he's selling it so cheap. Even without a torch, it's still a $2200 machine at retail.Unless I could see it work, with a torch or have the option to return it leave it alone. Torch at retail will set you back a grand easy I'm guessing. Reply:No way.I priced one out for my little 375 extreme and it was ungodly expensive. $800 IIRC. Had no idea it was that inexpensive.See if you can get a loaner then from your LWS. Probably be a long shot, but worth a look see.I wouldn't buy it unless you could confirm it works. Reply:Went picked it up today really nice guys couldn't get a torch to take with me but guy had it all set up for me to try if I brought gun. Guy said he knows it works and just lost interest in it after gun got run over. He said he realy never used it but a few times. It's in grate shape every thing inside is clean and well taken care of. The case bolts didn't show any tampering with. He's never had cover off so that was a good sign. I loaded it up and paid 550.00 for it. Guy even gave me some nice gloves with it. I'm hopeing my gun comes in soon so I can start playing with it. Also stoped at cabelas on way up there that place is awsome.

Reply:will do. im quite excited to try it out. and 550 bucks is worth the chance and the drive to get it. if it works out i did awsome if it dont ill send it off to get looked over and fixed as long as it aint arm and leg. lol took a chance but the guy being as nice as he was and his actions all pointed to he was being truth full. we had good talk about welding and what all he dose with his job and what i do at mine. hell it even came with a air dryer/ water seperator from miller on the side. ill try to get some good pictures tomaro when i get home from work.
