Reply:Speedy Metals. Dallas / Fort Worth. Great prices, no cut fees, good shipping if necessary and they’ve got just about anything.http://www.speedymetals.com/Harris O/A Gas, Lincoln PowerMig 140c, CE A/C 180 stickNC Whisper Deluxe Gas Forge, Centaur Coal ForgeNN Scroll Bender, Karl Hoop BenderJHM Anvil
Reply:Speedy Metals is where I have gone.Im lucky and its only a 20min drive to their WI location for me so I can pick up 12ft sections. Max length they ship is 6ft sections I think
Reply:That's right Cabby and UPS starts to crank the shipping cost up on anything longer than 4ft. Even so, I can often buy steel from them plus shipping and beat local New England supplier prices.I envy how close you are. They often have sweet-spot prices on standard size stock. Their 1X1X1/8th square tubing is some of the best priced I've seen anywhere... yah, I'm a fan.Harris O/A Gas, Lincoln PowerMig 140c, CE A/C 180 stickNC Whisper Deluxe Gas Forge, Centaur Coal ForgeNN Scroll Bender, Karl Hoop BenderJHM Anvil
Reply:I have noticed that here, near Portland, a lot of the local welding shops are selling their rems on the Craigslist. One place had angle/plate/tube/flat bar various sizes for .25 cents a pound. http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/mat/1614109490.htmlMaybe check Craigslist (closest city in Texas) for sale. materials sarch for "steel".Will
