Reply:I've been using the 2" Norton Blaze abrasive discs for the past year or so, they are ceramic. They do cut a bit faster, last a bit longer, and run a bit cooler than the regular kind, but they load up quickly on aluminum. But then, what doesn't.And I can't speak for other brands, but the Norton's are also safe and of a high quality. I haven't had a single one fire off or shred. The backer seems much stiffer than usual, and the edge of the disc wears cleanly so you can grind on pointy stuff without shredding the disc. Nice. The 36 grit is voracious, but the scratches take quite a bit of time to sand out with my typical 80/120 paint prep routine. 50 is a good compromise, but they definitely don't last as long as the 36.I do use the Blaze on aluminum, even though Norton makes aluminum specific product. I just use a fine wire brush to knock the aluminum off the disc before it gets out of hand. But with poor technique on aluminum, a dumbass operator can reduce the efficiency of the disc by half in less than two minutes, so....YMMV(your mileage may vary)

Haven't tried them but they where $7, half the $ of the Walter ones. So yours, if good where extra super cheap!I like the plastic-backed ones because you can carve back the plastic to get an exposed edge.
