Love this thing!]Got it a couple of weeks ago. I pulled the drill shaft, cleaned the grease from the needle bearings using brakeclean, blew it dry and put in some new bearing grease. Rolls nice and smooth.First notch with a piece of pipe I cut off with my new portaband (loving that thing too!)The pipe is bigger than my biggest hole saw but I'll be getting some new saws soon.I needed a new drill motor. My only corded drill is smaller than 1/2 inch. This test cut I had to use my cordless Makita, that won't do for a lot of cuts.- What is the ideal speed to be cutting tubing with? I hear that lower is better.I just shot some wd-40 at it this time for lubricant but know there's better things out there....Update to today:I got a cheap 1/2" low speed drill from HF for dedicated notcher use.Actually got good reviews:http://www.harborfreight.com/1-2-hal...ill-93632.htmlIt has a double reduction gearbox and a top speed of 550RPM with a click adjustable trigger stop to set lower speeds.I brought it home for 32.00 after a 20% single item coupon. For that much I figured I can't go too wrong.I didn't even plug it in before taking apart the gearbox to replace the grease...This is what was in it...Nasty stuff, wasn't much of it and wasn't on any of the gear teeth or in the roller bearings. Cleaned it out and filled it more than halfway with good grease, prelubing the bearings and teeth.(be careful not to separate the steel portion of the case from the plastic motor housing portion or you will pop the brushes and have to disassemble the back half to get it back together.):shaking:Hooked it up to the notcher, plugged it in, found some metal cutting compound I had laying around, and it works great. It has handles all over it so hanging on is easy.I slowed the speed a little but I think the 550 RPM might be fine?
Reply:Nah... you don't want that. It's no good. I would be willing to take it off your hands for a few bucks. You get what you put in and people get what they deserve...
