We have Country Mart bulk plane here in my small town that sells gas with no Ethanol l started using it this spring in my small engines they start better sound better and perform better. So I filled the tank on my 1967 SA 200 Pipeliner what a difference. The engine sounds so much better and runs much smoother. Its about 30 cents more on the gallon which is quite a bite more money but I don't run it every day so I think it is well worth it. Just wondering if any of you guys have tried it you.
Reply:I've never seen it in CA. I would give it a chance if I could. We run about thirty rental outboard engines. The gas hose and pumps are falling apart in a year or so on the mercury motors.
Reply:Old engines and 2 cycle really like it. We only have one station that sells it. But they sell a lot for small and older engines.
Reply:A pint of non detergent motor oil blended into 20 gallons of unleaded fuel does wonders for power and mileage also. It ups the BTU content of the gasoline. This ratio usually doesn't make any engine smoke. It's what I do with my older Chrysler engines of 60's vintage.SlobPurveyor of intimate unparalleled knowledge of nothing about everything.Oh yeah, also an unabashed internet "Troll" too.....

Reply:There are a couple of gas stations near airports I know of that sell high octane aviation gas with no ethanol. For some reason the FAA gets cranky when your engine in your plane stops in mid flight due to water  from ethanol in the gas..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:I use non ethanol gas in ALL my two strokes, lawn mowers, welders and vehicles that came from the factory with a rubber floor mat and bench seating  .  I guess being close enough to the oil patch we're fortunate to have several dealers who sell no E.  The grocery getter is about the only thing I don't care what goes in the tank.
Reply:The nice thing about Country Mart is the oil comes from Indiana wells and is refined in Indiana.
Reply:The 100 low lead AvGas, umm...does have lead in it. Great for non-catalytic engines, butwill ruin a cat.Blackbird

Reply:Down south there are stations all over that sell Non-Ethanol gas. It makes a world of difference in small engines and trucks. That was the norm years ago remember? then this corn ethanol b/s to cut down on the actual gas by diluting it came out. Gums up the carbs, plugs, etc. AND NOW they make it more expensive! WTF! its pretty messed up how they are messing with the prices like this and adding stuff to the diesel and gas. You use to could run all "farm(red)diesel" now if you get caught using it in your trucks you get a very hefty fine because it isn't taxed. The reason they switched diesels (by putting the different color die) is because there are more diesels on the road now. And everybody was buying them to get away from the rising gas prices. Now look at it. Diesel is higher than gas! it has never been like this. The energy sector sees a trend in something and jacks the price up. Ted Nugent for president!
Reply:If you can find a marina nearby, chances are you can get non-ethanol gas there. All the marinas around here have it. (89 octane.)

It's used mainly by dirt track race cars and race snowmobiles etc. it's made for very high compression motors. Your wasting your money by running it in a regular compression motor.
Reply:it is going to get worse too- this just came out from the American Motorcycle Assn.  The Renewable Fuel Standard proposal announced on May 29 by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency would increase the risk of misfueling for motorcyclists and all-terrain-vehicle owners by forcing the widespread availability of higher-ethanol fuel blends, such as E15.Act now by signing the American Motorcyclist Association’s petition to voice your concern. The EPA proposed setting the renewable fuel standard for 2014 at the levels that were actually produced and used, which totaled 15.93 billion gallons. But for 2015, the standard rises to 16.3 billion gallons. And for 2016, the total increases again, to 17.4 billion gallons.By increasing the amounts of ethanol into America’s gasoline marketplace, the EPA will exceed the blend wall by hundreds of millions of gallons! The blend wall is the point at which no more ethanol can be blended without creating higher blends like E15 and above. This means ethanol blends of 15 percent or higher likely will become more prevalent because of this proposed rule. However, in a regulatory announcement released Aug. 6, 2013, “EPA Finalizes Renewable Fuel Standards,” the EPA said that for 2014 “the ability of the market to consume ethanol in higher blends such as E85 is highly constrained as a result of infrastructure -- and market-related factors. EPA does not currently foresee a scenario in which the market could consume enough ethanol sold in blends greater than E10…”The EPA is pushing higher ethanol limits despite its own acknowledgment that the market cannot consume these higher amounts due to “infrastructure and market-related factors.”That’s when the U.S. Department of Agriculture comes to the rescue. On the same day the EPA announced its proposed rule, the USDA unveiled a $100 million plan to double the number of higher-blend renewable-fuel pumps. Under the blender pump subsidy program, the USDA will administer competitive grants to match funding for state-led efforts to test and evaluate innovative and comprehensive approaches to market higher blends of renewable fuel, such as E15 and E85.The EPA calls for higher ethanol blended fuels and the USDA spends taxpayer dollars to make it happen, despite knowing that none of the estimated 22 million motorcycles and ATVs in use in the United States is approved to use E15 or higher ethanol blends. Using those fuels in motorcycles and ATVs is illegal and may cause engine and fuel system damage and void the manufacturer's warranty. The EPA opened a comment period to allow the public to voice their opinion on the proposed rule. The AMA has the tools to make it easy for you to submit comments by signing our petition. The AMA will submit every name and address with our comments to the EPA. There is nothing more powerful than thousands of riders joining to express their concern with unsafe fuel for their rides.Thousands of riders like you join the AMA to unite for a common goal – to protect our freedom to ride. Reply:I use a product called Star Tron that my mechanic recommended. It kills the affects of alcohol. My small engine guys recommends it as well and I haven't had any problems out of any of them. It's also very cheap. An $8 bottle treats 128 gallons of fuel.
