So I bought a new gun for my Millermatic 35 and am a little confused as to where I splice in the wires. I've installed the adapter kit and the gas regulator already. I hope from the pictures I attached someone can help me out. Attached Images
Reply:There are two blue ones in the front that came with the kit. The single black wire on the + cable and then the 2 light brown wire attatched to the gas flow regulator.
Reply:The last one of these I did, I ran a 24 volt solenoid directly off the contactor with a couple piggyback connectors. The coil connections on the contactor are spade type & you can easily add two piggyback plug in style spade connectors & connect the solenoid coil to them. You'll have to add some wire to the solenoid with butt splices & put spade connectors to the ends.I connected the solenoid to the back panel just like miller does with newer machines. I used a standard Deltrol solenoid sold by miller. It was easier than messing around with something else & a standard gas line screws directly into it. I used a Greenlee punch out tool to make the hole & the screw on connector miller provides in the solenoid kit for a clean install. Butt splice the solenoid wires & piggyback directly off the coil wire contact connections. You can purchase piggy back plug in connectors anywhere electronic supplies are sold.. I used two vertical ones that allowed me to plug in the two coil wires along with the two power wires without having to cut anything. Pretty clean & easy. The small round double spade plug in the deck right below the wire drive is for the gun trigger control. Connect the two blue wires to each of the connections using female spade connectors. When you press the trigger, it closes the connection & turns the contactor & solenoid on & off at the same time. I have pix of it on my computer at home but I'm out of state.I'm pretty sure that's the way I did it. My memory for stuff like this sucks, but that's pretty well the principle behind it. I didn't use the current from the weld circuit.Give that a shot.Last edited by 7A749; 08-21-2013 at 05:31 PM.Expert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948
Reply:Blue wires connect to the original RC1 (circled in red).Gas solenoid control connections depends on its voltage rating.  What is it?Who's adapter kit is it?  No instructions?  Welder SN?You might want to raise the adapter a little in the front panel to result in a straighter shot for the filler wire from the drive rolls.  Looks to be quite a bit of misalignment at present that will only introduce additional undesired wire feed friction.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!

Reply:I got the kit from Weldmart.com and the instructions are horrible.  It come with everything in the kit but has no instruction as to where to splice the wires in. Any chance you could tell me where to connect from the pics posted?
Reply:I hope this will help. When I ordered the gun and kit. They said it came with everything I would need to do the conversion. Its the white face.  200 (208) 230 volts - 26.5/24 amps -kw 4.8 - single phase 60hz
Reply:Hey Steve! Oxy - unfortunately that info doesn't help 100% as I can't refer you to the specific electrical diagram for your machine without its SN.  Plus we need to know the voltage rating of the gas valve supplied with the kit.  I suspect - as Steve does - it's 24VAC but I'd also think you'd want to be certain before powering it up.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:The directions show where to mount the solenoid and the adapter for the gun but nothing for the wiring. Its really frustrating.  I asked them multiple times before ordering and they assured me the directions were very in depth. I'll take a pic and put it on here. Its laughable.  Maybe I should just take it to Airgas and let them button it up.
Reply:Approach this photo with caution as it was taken by a MM35 owner of his messed up modified non-working machine but the contactor in yours that Steve is referring to should look similar to the one outlined in orange and be in the same location.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:7A747 thanks! I'll send you a PM. Ontop of the horrible decrections. It took them three weeks to send me the wrong gun and then another month to resend me the right one.
Reply:Did they at least include the Weldmart Online pocket knife with the order? MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
