track torch and pipe cutter

Hello, I looking for a good track torch and a pipe cutter. I have looked at the victor torch but, man they are bringing a pretty penny. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good brand, that is not as hard on the wallet. Im also looking for a pipe cutter/ beveler. I am looking for one, that looks almost a lathe chuck. The torch sits in one spot and the pipe rotates as the torch cuts. I have seen ones where you put like a chain around the pipe and it cuts, that not what im really looking for. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Reply:i had a wachs machine in the early 80's that drove itself on a chain fastened around the pipe.. ours would torchcut and groove..$10k back then, it worked flawlessly...
Reply:I have many hours using ESABs, an ancient Heath, and a new Koike (nice rheostat and smooth drivetrain, odd-size torch head works fine) track torch.I will NOT even look for a used one for myself after seeing this video. Self-centering, no wheels, fast control response from the drill motor. Whip out one or many of these and pocket the change! If you want a pipe coupon beveller, you only need a shaft, a couple of pillow blocks, a lathe chuck, and a hand crank (longer handle = slower rotation and better control) to do the rotation. The torch adjustment is more of a hassle. If you have a barrel torch, you can use worm drive hose clamps to hold it in a piece of angle. How you adjust height vs distance in-out is up to you. A pipe arrangement like a welding practice booth "tree" could work ok.The Watts Specialties W-60-2 "Straight Pipe Cutter" is a good piece, though the rack-and-pinion torch holder isn't very durable. We weld an inch of round stock to the end of the bar and mount our ESAB machine torch mounts to that. I'm making hand cranks for ours to keep them working when their electricals go down now and then (ours are old and get hard use).
