Hello fellas I was looking at this plasma cutter anyone have any pros or cons about it. Right now running a miller 675 extreme and was looking at something bigger. Any input would be appreciated
Reply:80 amps is probably somewhat similar to a Hypertherm 65 in output.. I had one, and it was really a solid machine.. I had the Thermals for many years, and those USA built ones are good units.. Cool thing is the very cheap factory consumables, and many styles. Over the years I have grown to like the Thermal one torch.. Took a lot of years messing with it to get it to cut like I wanted. Hand cutting is not the issue.. CNC. Here is the biggest key with the Thermal/Victor machines.. for quality low bevel cuts. Most people give up, and move on to something else.. Match your consumables to the thickness being cut. It's the reason Thermal designed the 20-30-40-50/55-60-70-80-90/100-120 amp tips for the Cutmaster series. Don't go out of range, or use too many amps cutting thinner then necessary. It's quite a narrow range. like the qaulity of the cuts on 3/16 is much nicer using 50/55 amp consumables (50 amps cutting) then trying to use 60 amp consumables.. If I want super detail, and a tiny torch, I will use my SL-40 on my A-120  Works great, and nothing comes close to that system for me. You can use it on the 101 too..The 101 will be a single phase 208-240 volt unit or a single phase 460, and a 3 phase unit only. not multi-voltage or multi phase machine. Never bothered me, and kind of like the simplicity of a stand alone voltage type machine.. The 101 is about 10 years old by now, so take that in to consideration. Nice machine to this day..Esab/Lorch ET-220iEsab 160i caddyThermal LM-200 Lincoln feedersThermal Pee-Wee 85sThermal 60i- 3phase /RPC powered (Beast)Thermal Drag-gun 35CINE 1500 Klutch 140i
Reply:How about the price for one
Reply:Don't know about the 101,but I have had a Cutmaster 52 for several years now, cuts great , and not a problem in the world!
Reply:When I bought my cutmaster 52 I was offered a cutmaster 101 demo model for the same price. What made me go with the 52 was it was brand new and the 101 required something around 80 amps to operate........too much for my main panel, 52 has been a great machine.
Reply:The cutmaster 101 puts out 80 amps of cut power. It doesn't draw 80 amps of 230v current at max output. It will draw around 65 amps of 230v power at max cut output of 80 amps.JasonLincoln Idealarc 250 stick/tigThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 52Miller Bobcat 250Torchmate CNC tableThermal Arc Hefty 2Ironworkers Local 720
Reply:I have the Hypertherm 85 and its great. But if I were to get a Thermal dynamics/ Victor I would go for the Cutmaster 82.www.georgesplasmacuttershop.comPlasma Cutter and Welder Sales and Repairs--Ebay storeTec.Mo. Dealer Consumables for the PT and IPT torch's
Reply:The older Thermal 101,151 are quality cutting machines. You will not see a lick of difference between the older style, and newer units, other then the choke in the new machines is glued down, and not bolted in.. (Can break loose if treated rough at all, think shipping)) It's funny watching the You Tube vid of them dragging the cutmaster 82 by it's tail.. if you took the cover off of that unit, stuff would be hanging loose all through it..Esab/Lorch ET-220iEsab 160i caddyThermal LM-200 Lincoln feedersThermal Pee-Wee 85sThermal 60i- 3phase /RPC powered (Beast)Thermal Drag-gun 35CINE 1500 Klutch 140i

Reply:Thanks will do
Reply:Start here..Don't need them in a bag.(has both) They are original. You will not find a better deal on factory 8215 electrodes, and the 8210 (60 amp tips)http://www.ebay.com/itm/281705981346...%3AMEBIDX%3AITGet over here pretty dang fast.. Stay away from China tips.. Electrodes seem fine for the most part, but at these prices stick with factory. (I would anyway.. ) This is the cup to use for shielded cutting.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Thermal-Dyna...item463c2d5211This is the 60 amp drag shield.. I put the china one under it. Those seem to be fine ..You get 5 for the price of one original .You call there but don't worry much about that one..http://www.ebay.com/itm/VICTOR-THERM...item25a6f57849http://www.ebay.com/itm/5pcs-9-8235-...item27cbaf387b70-100 amp stuffhttp://www.ebay.com/itm/THERMAL-DYNA...item2edc66ac70http://www.ebay.com/itm/5pcs-9-8236-...item5d3558c47380 amps..http://www.ebay.com/itm/THERMAL-DYNA...item43de28dc67cup for drag cutting or use with a standoff-guide..http://www.ebay.com/itm/VICTOR-THERM...item3396691434Standoff for the 9-8218.. not factory but it will work just fine..http://www.ebay.com/itm/9-8251-Stand...item4ae854a82eOnly thing left is a 9-8213 start cartridge.. Clean the copper plunger with a scotchbrite pad. It will last for year, and years. 40 amp 9-8207 tips are made for dragging on the plate no standoff. Same with the 20, and 30 amp tips..Last edited by Brand X; 06-19-2015 at 11:11 PM.Esab/Lorch ET-220iEsab 160i caddyThermal LM-200 Lincoln feedersThermal Pee-Wee 85sThermal 60i- 3phase /RPC powered (Beast)Thermal Drag-gun 35CINE 1500 Klutch 140i
