Reply:There is NO added value just because its a Jesse James edition.  I can buy jesse james clothing in wal mart (or could).  Great welding attire, with good burn through resistance, but it cost about 20 buck for either a shirt or a pair of pants about the same as a pair of good wranglers.Right now, I don't think anyone gives a care about whether or not its a "limited" edition.  Particularly a bonafide welder MAKING money with it.  It is a tool...Tools will be used, not coddled and petted and oo'ed and ahh'ed over.   A real welder is only interested in the utility of the torch and not some frills...and that is why no one who is a real welder will give you top dollar.  When all things are boiled down, its still a ESAB/Purox torch, nothing more.  If you are in it to turn a profit, looks like you are the one who got jacked on the price at the price you bought it. The hobby guy isn't inclined to buy it either since it is well more than anyone would normally pay for a starter apprentice or imported journeyman type torch... ( Maybe 225.00 max!)You'll probably sell it eventually, to some poor sucker with too much money in his pocket and a fetish for homewrecking pornstars with tatoos.  But since you fab posrches...I doubt you'd consider a reasonable price if it was offered anyway. Here you can get it new for 299:   http://www.toolsforless.com/product/...Welding_OutfitBut after rereading your first post, you said "I am just trying to get my money back"....Now you claim you are"about making money"....sounds like a scam to me.Last edited by lugweld; 04-24-2010 at 07:28 PM.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT
Reply:"Signature" items aren't targeted at professionals, who tend to know all the boring details about everything they buy and be more interested in performance than image.Wanna get top dollar (this IS America, go for it!), sell boutique brands on a car/truck/bike forum instead. Ebay is another option. On the other hand it just shows how cheap people are, granted not every body works at full blown fab shop or welding facility were money is no object.

Reply:Not trying to pile on here but I made haha an offer on the set, it wasn't what he wanted and he declined.  He was cool about it and that is the way that it goes.  I was bargain shopping because our local supplier was having their annual one day sale and I knew that I could get a metalmaster or journeyman at a price that no one on the internet can beat. No different than on any other internet classified.  Probably why he isn't ebaying it.I have been in his shoes before on selling other items and it sucks, you don't want to give it away and you can't sell it for any real profit so you hold on to it until the right person comes along. Not going to get into the whole morality issue, none of my business and I get tired of hearing about it.  Anyways I ended up getting the metal master set, first purox I have owned. It is the best torch I have used, and I have used them all on everything from sheet metal to 6", if you are looking for a great torch with a unique character this is it.
Reply:purox is a great brand dad used them all the time i  my self just cant afford this set which sucks but hope u do get it sold for what u canLincoln Pro Core 125Lincolin sp 100Miller Big 40Lincoln Idealarc SP250miller matic 212http://www.facebook.com/hdwelding?sk=wallwww.hdweldingbeds.com

Reply:What I havent figured out, is why someone who built their reputation on building bikes/rods and the like, would put together a signature series kit with a torch too big and clunky to use on any of the metal fabrication he is "known" for. Using the W-200 handle would have made a lot more sense if they were going after the "custom" market I would think.
