Hi all - great forum! I bought a Lincoln Precision 185 Tig last year and am just getting around to fiddling with it. Doing pretty well, but seems like I might like a hand amptrol. Does anyone have any recommendations? Are there aftermarket hand amptrols. Has anyone used the Lincoln K963 and how do you like it? Thanks!
Reply:These guys have a couple different kinds of hand amptrol... www.ckworldwide.com I got the sliding switch kind that is built into the handle but haven't used it yet.
Reply:There has got to be a way to make one. 180 to 200 bucks for a little slider is a bit rediculous. Reply:Yes, the 185 has a six pin connector. I was thinking I could probably come up with something that would work. They do seem excessively expensive for what is probably just some sort of rheostat. Any suggestions?
