Reply:TIG cart showing my setup that I started TIGing with (have a much bigger TIG on there now). Cart is made from two heavy-duty 18" x 36" steel shelves (the bottom one is upside-down, on purpose), some bedframe angle iron, recycled casters, and the drawers from a meeting room credenza (helmet and gloves in big bottom drawer, smaller stuff in top drawer). I need to make some metal straps/brackets to hold the argon cylinder one of these days... Attached Images

Reply:A "mini" rat chopper, I made a few years ago. All made out of found, scrap and a few given materials. Only bought the motor, drive train components and hardware. A first motorcycle project. Not street legal, but it wasnt meant to be on street, but "off road use" like at a camp or around on property. Won a trophy for it, at a bike show a few years ago. Had to machine a few of the hubs and make a keyed shaft as I couldnt find one at the time or have the money to buy.In total took me about $300 and 3 years to complete. I reckon I spent about 200+hrs on the build, there abouts.

Reply:My work ordered a new CnC machine and it came in a huge crate. They where gonna let the rigging company take all the steel from the crate to scrap it. They asked me if I wanted any of it and after further revue I decided to take it all. It took most of the weekend to process it down to usable and transportable lengths. I used their torches and it all turned out good for me and several of my friends. I got enough to build the bed pictured below and there is enough left over for most of a car trailer and some other random projects. Reply:Well it's kind of a long story. Google "79 bronco 84 F150 cab swap" and it should come up with a thread on fullsizebronco.com. The title pretty much sums it up. It's a 300,205,4spd with a 44 and a 9 inch. The drivetrain had to be moved back 4 inches and the axle moved forward an inch. The rear axle still needs moved back, I'm gonna flip the springs. I have been building it on and off for 5 years. Everyone else's broken things come before my toys but I hope to finish it up in the spring. Oh yea, and I don't like it when my fireworks fall over (Home)Miller Maxstar 152 (sold)MM211/spool gunLincoln AC 225C(Work)Dynasty 350Powcon 300STLincoln SP-175TWeldlodgic AWS150sWeldlodgic AWS300Custom Resistance seam weldersCambridge Vacuum EB weldersI smell something burning.

Reply:Last week i made a roof rack for my van Must of been one of the easiest jobs ever made from bits of scrap and a couple of lengths of box that were left over from another job.I was happy with the job, but even happier when i got them electroplated now they look as good as the shop bought ones which cost around £100 in the UK, and all from Scrap The roof of the van already had threaded M8 holes built in so it was just a 25mm M8 zinc plated bolt and a small bit of rubber gasket between the rack and the top of the van. The U Bolts were the only sort i had should of got some square ones but, hey its free!!!The Plastic Cap ends of the box were free samples from a plastic company, but you could only have 2 of any said item, so i got 2 x dark grey ones for the front and 2 x light grey ones for the back, i'm not gonna moan about color when i got them for free!!
Reply:Made the wife a outdoor fireplace. The stainless is from a dinged up burgerking counter top. 16 ga steel diamond plate scraps. 2 disc blades, 1 for pedestal 1 for bottom of fire pit. Misc. pieces of 5-6" exhaust tubing. The acme thread that moves the grill up/down was a HF gear puller. A few gears and chain from an old harvester. I did have to buy a piece of stone for the hearth and an old Ashcroft steam gauge off ebay.
