I was tiring of cutting all of my metal on the floor and wanted a saw table like I have for my woodworking compound miter saw but more versatile.  I had a cutoff from my welding table top sitting there unused and this 1/2" thick plate 20 x 48 became the genesis for the design of the saw table.  I used 2x3 tubular steel for the frame.  I got a great deal on these receiver tubes from Northern Tool for 5 bucks a piece so I bought some of them for the sliding outfeed/infeed rollers. The rollers I got from McMaster-Carr, they are conveyor rollers with a 300 lb capacity.  I made the brackets for them and they work great and it's cheaper than buying rollers with brackets already made. I owe part of the credit for the design to people on this forum who provided inspiration with their tables (I used some of the design from "yorkiepap" and his table)The 12' outrigger bar is 2" square and 3/16" thick.  It can slide both ways to provide support to whichever side needs it depending on what I'm cutting.  It all rides on 5" casters.  The rollers adjust up and down as well as side to side depending on which saw is sitting on the table.  I made it to work with my compound miter saw also which has a higher deck than my Milwaukee abrasive saw.  The outrigger bar and rollers hang on the wall in my garage when not in use, so the table doesn't take up much floor space in the garage. Here are the pics:
Reply:I like it! This ismsomething that could be added to just about any welding table as well though having it as a separate mobile table is very handy. Two thumbs up! GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.
Reply:Only thing I might have done different was to have used 2 lengths of 2" vs 1 long one and off set the two receivers under the bench. That way you could slide both in under the bench for storage. Down side would be you can't support anything out past say the 6' length, but most times for stuff on the chop saw, that isn't a huge problem, or you can always add a 2nd separate roller stand.Nice thing is the way your rollers are changeable, you could always use shorter or longer square tube if needed..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Super design.  I would certainly  be easy enough to change the support if you decided to go with longer side arms and now if you get in a pinch you can use your support bar as stock for another project! I really like the idea of using the hitch receives for the supports, that has to reduce a lot of play and add stability to the arms.  (I had to use a step ladder yesterday to hold the length I was cutting)I just built a table similar to this for a clients lathe, he loves the form factor and I liked it a lot for my metal chop saw.Nice work.Regards,RobGreat Basin WeldingInstagramBlue weldersRed weldersMy luscious Table DIY TIG Torch cooler
Reply:That's fhuhkiin awesome ! Put a curved piece of sheet metal(removable) behind it, tapered like a 1/2 funnel ,leading to a five gallon bucket to sit on the shelf below.Catch all of those sparks. So clean you could even use it in the TV room during commercials.Bubble gumTooth pixDuct tapeBlack glueGBMF hammerScrew gun --bad battery (see above)

Reply:Not to shabby. though, I'd add a support on the table to make it so that the thinner piece don't droop. set it at the same height as the saw and moveable supports. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
