if hes a man of his word, i have me a nice bridgeport mill..I'm paying $1500 for the mill, originally it come out of a vocational school so i bet its had a pretty easy life.. the guy that owns it now said he has used it very little in the last 5 yrs.. it definetly needs readouts..i have to go pay for it, the guys holding it until the roads get decent enough to get there, he lives about 45miles away and we had 2 inches of snow today and more is suppose to come down tomorrow... so i'll have to wait to go check it over and pay for it... he said no problem and he would sit on it for me.. planning on a power feed and digital readouts. that should make it a good solid machine..i think its well worth it.. whats your opinions?heres some pics.tackleexperts.comwww.necessityjigs.comhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/mach...dingequipment/
Reply:Sweet! Nice addition. I also really like that truck in the background.
Reply:i said he painted it a couple years ago and kept it covered when not in use... he was running one of the small static phase converters on it... he said it had a little backlash, he said looking at the dial it was like .006, he said the quill seemed tight, all handles moved smooth and werent tight or anything.. i didnt think of checking the pulleys.. i might take my indicol and indicator with me and see if the table has any kind of belly in it, but from the pics the table looks to be in good shape.. i have some r8 collets and a drill chuck, i will need a vise, think a friend is going to fix me up with a 6inch kurt he got at an auction.. i need a set of tie downs also, all i have is a set of 5/8 tiedowns. i noticed the stop being welded on also, i noticed as soon as i seen the pics.. that and readout will probably be the first things i do to it..tackleexperts.comwww.necessityjigs.comhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/mach...dingequipment/

Reply:Not sure about Reliable... for me it works ok... but it has been awhile since I got anything from them. I guess buyer beware but with all the plant closings they get a lot of stuff. Still a keen mill Brucer.Lincoln Power MIG 215Lincoln WeldPak 3200HDLincon ProCut 25Lincoln WeldanPower 225 AC/DCIf all else fails... buy more tools |
