I wan't every opinion out there on the pedals, thankshttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Miller-Wirel...item3f2ff37b84
Reply:Not worth the money. Think of all the better things you could spend money on. Does nothing to help with out of position welding where scratch start would be necessary. All I see it doing is reducing one more cord, that's it.
Reply:Anyone else want to weigh in here???
Reply:I love mine.  To me, it was money well spent.  Walking around a 4 x 4 table putting tacks everywhere without an extra cord. priceless.
Reply:I love mine. Yes it's expensive and yes the real benefit is getting rid of the extra cord. But not having to fight with the foot pedal cord when moving the foot pedal around is NICE.Millermatic 252XMT 304'sDynasty 280DXHypertherm PowerMax 1250Miller Trailblazer 302 EFIOptima PulserXR feeder and XR Edge gun and more athttp://members.dslextreme.com/users/waynecook/index.htm
Reply:can you use the 14 pin receiver with both the remote and the foot pedal????like, I would buy the foot pedal and receiver, and then buy the hand amp remote by itself.will the one receiver work for both controls??John
Reply:I haven't tried it yet. I thought I saw somewhere in the manual that it wouldn't work but I don't see why it wouldn't. I've got both a hand remote (for my Trailblazer) and the foot remote. I need to try it sometime.Millermatic 252XMT 304'sDynasty 280DXHypertherm PowerMax 1250Miller Trailblazer 302 EFIOptima PulserXR feeder and XR Edge gun and more athttp://members.dslextreme.com/users/waynecook/index.htm
Reply:We shouldn't even be having this discussion! its 2014! All pedals should be cordless. These manufacturers need to get with the times. My keyboard and mouse run of a tiny 2.4ghz receiver. I fly rc airplanes and they have micro receivers as well. $500 COME ON MILLER! Raping us here. they should be $200 MAX!www.performancealuminumfabrication.com

I agree with TSGG as far as a scratch start, or field work setting goes where a foot control in itself wouldn't be practical, but in the shop it's the only way to fly. As Irish said, it's not cheap, but I think in most cases, once you use one, you'll never want to go back to dragging cords around again. This is coming from a guy that was dead set against one. Until I actually tried it IMHO of course
Reply:Haven't tried it with the pedal but I've used the hand held remote inside a metal building with my truck a good ways away. But the hand held has slightly longer range than the foot pedal.Millermatic 252XMT 304'sDynasty 280DXHypertherm PowerMax 1250Miller Trailblazer 302 EFIOptima PulserXR feeder and XR Edge gun and more athttp://members.dslextreme.com/users/waynecook/index.htm

Reply:@ 7A749 - the Miller cordless pedal is built on the 2.4GHz architecture.   That frequency is spec'd Tx max between 600 ~ 2,400 ft, obstruction free.  Test the limits bro "Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
Reply:I love mine. It's so nice not dealing with the cord and its VERY accurate as far as slight input. I will NEVER go back to the cord.

I'd love one for when I'm working on Draglines. It's a pain in the arse if you have to tweak the voltage when your in the middle of the dragline or half way up the boom.

Reply:A quick check of millers web site leads me to say the receiver can only talk to one remote at a time. For the receiver to talk to a second remote it has to be field paired. Just like getting your bluetooth paired to your phone. you would have to pair again, every time you switch controls. If enough people ask Miller for a two channel receiver they might build one.Right now you can buy just a replacement receiver, The foot control can have the electronics module replaced. Haven't seen the hand control yet so don't know if it is more than one part.I want one but can't see spending the dough.  Still shocked that no aftermarket manufacturer hasn't copied the idea and came out with a cheaper version.  Competition is good.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum
Reply:I've had my cordless pedal nearly a year now and would hate to go back to a wired one,a lot of my stuff is car chassis related so only having the torch to pull round is great. The dealer i bought my Dynasty from offered me a great deal on any other Miller products so long as i ordered them at the same time so i bought the pedal and fingertip control which cost about 60-70% the cost of elsewhere which helped to seal the deal on the pedal.

Reply:I run one everyday. I ordered the entire package from miller when I ordered the Dynasty 350. I freeking love that thing. Full discloser though, it was not my money. Would I have spent the money if it was my money.  Prolly not but am I glad my employer did.(Home)Miller Maxstar 152 (sold)MM211/spool gunLincoln AC 225C(Work)Dynasty 350Powcon 300STLincoln SP-175TWeldlodgic AWS150sWeldlodgic AWS300Custom Resistance seam weldersCambridge Vacuum EB weldersI smell something burning.

Reply:Best thing about the wireless pedal is switching yours with the guys next to you at work when he goes to the bathroom. Then when he comes back to strike an arc you start pretending like your playing the drums with it. The wireless for us is a must, we've got 1000+lb fixtures rolling in and out of our booths, cords are easily cut with steel casters.

Reply:I run mine daily, it needs battery's about once a year. My only real complaint is that when it starts to go dead it fails arc on. Shouldn't it go dead with a cold torch? I replace the battery's every 6 months without an issue. It's 4 or 6 double A's nothing special nothing expensive.Last edited by atari; 02-08-2014 at 09:02 AM.(Home)Miller Maxstar 152 (sold)MM211/spool gunLincoln AC 225C(Work)Dynasty 350Powcon 300STLincoln SP-175TWeldlodgic AWS150sWeldlodgic AWS300Custom Resistance seam weldersCambridge Vacuum EB weldersI smell something burning.

Reply:I'm rather lost nut that's not unusual. What I can't figure out is what good is a cordless foot pedal without accompanying cordless leads. It seems that lead distance is the limiting factor and that the singular benefit is merely one less cord to trip over. I have to be missing something.

Reply:Ah, that makes sense. And the more I think about it, the more value I see in it. I'm looking for a TIG now to start learning and I can see how not having a lead going down would be more in the way than leads just going over to the work. Thanks.

Reply:I've kicked a pedal miles around a shop floor and will say it really nice with no cable. That SA200 wireless reo is awesome. Gonna look it to that.
Reply:After running my new one for a few hours the only advice I can give is that if you are doubting their worth, don't ever try one! You will be $600 poorer and ruined for life quicker than you can ever imagine!
