I just bought a Lincoln SAF 650 and a SAE 300.What do the letters mean? I know the Shield Arc part of it, but what is the E and the F mean? These are mid to late 70's machines.I am a complete amateur, so I'd just like the basic description of what the characteristics of each welder are.I know that these probably aren't the usual choice for starter machines.......but I'm an idiot and I like old iron. Thanks
Reply:Welcome to the forum! Nice to see someone else from Bozeman onboard. Cant help much with the questions, I'm a true hobbyist. But definitely curious why you'd have 2 sizeable engine drive machines? Agree its an unusual choice for a starter machine, but you wont outgrow it either. Hobbyist - At what point is a "hobby" out-of-control?
