Reply:Unless your stuck on miller I was looking for a xmt, but found a thermal arc 400 and feeder for less than the price of just the xmt power source. I like the one I got and I couldnt pass up the deal. A 300 amp ( on single phase) power source and a new 4 drive roller feeder for 2000. seemed pretty good to me. might be something to watch for.thermal arc mst400, va4000 feeder, lincoln 175 min, victor torches, miller s32p feeder, air arc k4000 for work.

Reply:My XMT 350 has less than 30 minutes on it. In perfect condition. Next time, make sure you add that kind of info as it is crucial.No harm, no foul.I think you are going to have a very difficult time finding a unit that has been tested and can be guaranteed to work for your price. Reply:I never said it had to be in pristine condition and am well aware that $1250 isn't a lot, but was hoping for an industrial machine that was in rough cosmetic shape.
Reply:Look on Craig's List, or look for Ebay auctions from sellers that are local to you within driving distance, or look for local equipment auctions.  Make sure you have a way to test the machine before you buy.  When I go to buy used welding equipment, I take the welding truck, which has the Bobcat on it, which has 220v power as well as welding output, so I am able test 220v machines as well as weld output powered feeders, etc.  I bring an extra 14-50 plug to match my Bobcat's outlet (and/or extra Tweco connectors to hook up to my leads) and make sure I know how to wire it to the seller's machine before I go there.  This protects from paying cash/final sale on dead machines that were 'supposed' to be working.  This works not only with welding machines but with any kind of 220v single phase equipment.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op

Reply:I know my machine isnt an XMT but pretty close! I am moving to a very restrictive place and could possibly be talked out of it for a lot less than an xmt. See here.
