Old Lincoln air cooled queston

I have an old lincoln aircooled with a 16 hp Brigs and Statton engine on it. My neighbor borrowed it and kept it at his house for over 5 years.. I don't know when the last time it was started. I put jumper cables on it just to make sure the engine wasn't locked up.. I intend to clean it up repaint it and get in good operating condition as a retirement project . I don't know what kind it is cause the previous owner painted it black. I intend to repaint it red cause that was its origional color.. It is an a/c -d/c machine. Would anyone know what model it might be and if there are any documents available on it.. ? Thanks Terry
Reply:it sounds like a "weldanpower225"(or 250) i had. even had a constant voltage  tap on it .It worked good , but ,the worlds NOISIEST darn machine ever created. Sold it because of the noise ,and, after I got the S A 250 , i didnot need it. I built a stainless steel gas tank and battery case for it, to use a car battery,and a fuel filter(it did not come with one).[SIZE="5"Yardbird"
Reply:Does it have a CV tap?   If you can find a model, you can go to lincolnelectric.com and find the owners manual.  I have a weldmanpoweer G7 width an Onan 2 banger on it.  DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:If you can find the code number you can probably get an operator's manual and other technical info, like wiring diagrams.  The code number is stenciled into the nameplate, and also into the generator frame.  It will be on a part of the frame that can't be removed and lost.  The code is usually 4 digits long, and can often be hidden by other parts, like covers, or the control box that Lincoln used to mount on top of their older machines.Good luck,Bob
