I saw this Grizzly 4x6 bandsaw on Craigslist, the guy was downsizing and selling off equipment that wasn't being used . It was pretty dirty from sitting , but after a few hours of applying elbow grease I think it cleaned up pretty well. It looks like he only used it as a vertical bandsaw, there was a lot of metal and wood sawdust in the bottom pulley .After making some adjustments and some test cuts, I cut a thin piece of 3/4" bar stock. I think it's a keeper!Price? The saw with 6 extra blades set me back a whopping $75!!
Reply:I'll give ya $85 for it!Very nice score. You get what you put in and people get what they deserve...
Reply:great score my blades are$45.00
Reply:Oh, sure, it'll cut square stock, but can it cut round?Nice score.

Reply:Build yourself a new set of legs. Your back will thank you, along with your ankles. Those sheet metal legs are pretty flimsy. Reply:Thanks guys. You're right about the mask and gun,my local steel yard sells cheap blades for $12 each, so it's like I got the saw for almost nothing.Do I need one of ed mac's $45 dollar blades to cut round?I'm planning to make a new base, I've looked at a bunch of the threads on bandsaw bases. Thanks for the links on tuning up the saw, lots of good info there.Last edited by CamW; 02-27-2011 at 03:16 PM.
