Reply:Yeah, jigs don't have to be super fancy to work well and make your life easier. I keep a ton of small scarp pieces around for blocking up items and so on when I need to get them supported off the table when working on them or for using as a hand rest.Do you have any issues with arc burn on the tube at the ground plate?.No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:BC,How do you think this piece of equipment would have worked for a "time saver" on that weld? Just got it in last week but have been busy on other things and haven't got a chance to play with it yet.
Reply:4956All you've got to do is check BC's post of 2/27/2014 (two gas mixer) where he did a writeup on the mixer. The mixer BC has is the Smith Model #299-011-1B which was designed for mixing Argon/Hydrogen. With the conversion table provided by Smith, BC is able to mix up to 46% Helium in his gas mix.If you're looking to buy a mixer specifically for Argon/Helium, the mixer you'd want is the Smith #299-006-3B. That unit is adjustable from 0-100% helium. All this information can be found on the Smith website. Just look for 2-Gas Mixers. Just be prepared to dig deep in the ol wallet.Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc.
