What do I have to add ,to be able to tig weld off this sa 200 ?
Reply:You will only be able to DC tig off an SA200. I have a setup just like you are wanting. You will need a gas regulator, hose, the tig torch and leads...and of coarse a bottle of gas.I haven't used mine but a couple of times. I didn't have much luck with it but I'm sure it can be used. I have some welding buddies who have the same setup and they use them on jobs for tigging stainless pipe.Golf Supplies | Golf Carts | Yamaha golf cars
Reply:So all I need to do is switch the leads, such as hook the tig rig to the neg side and Im good to go ? For some reason I thougt you could not do this with the red face . Thans for the reply
Reply:well red face or black if its a sa-200 you are going to be stuck with only one tig proces , being it does not have the AC capability of running a high frequency adapter , so stainles or steel you can do but will probly be a scratch start , 20 yrs ago there was a company offering an ac adapter for the sa& sae welder's but havent kept up on it , if your wanting to do field tig , you might look into one of the later machines , but as for stick you wont find a better machine than the ( SA ) or (SAE) lincolns even todays new stuff has a hard time keeping up with them. |
