anyone have any thoughts on  buying a ranger8 to weld pipe for hvac piping.i want to put ot on a trailer.anyone got a set up for sale in mass

Reply:i have a ranger 9 and love it, i know a couple guys with 8s not much different, they run a little rough at times but other then that they are pretty good machines IMO
Reply:My ranger8 has some issues with the engine. And it is an intermitten problem, so it only shows up when the customer is watching. It has been doing it since 200 hours and now at 800+ and I can't find the problem.Not to pirate this thread but, if anyone has a suggestion?The machine starts everytime and runs great till it deceides not too. It will start to lose engine speed and sputter as if running out of gas or flooded and continue that way till you either restart it or hold the throtle at idle for a few seconds, then it will pick back up and weld till it goes again. I have checked all the obvious things, ...gas oil filters hoses fuel pump... ???
Reply:Don't mean to hyjack the thread, but would you guys go with a different Lincoln or Miller this time. Here's reason I'm asking I'm at a point were I need to buy a welder/generator. I like the Lincolns but everywhere I go, the dealers tell me to stay away from the Lincoln brand and go with Miller. Again I don't mean to take the thread, but looking for any suggestions and help....gear

Reply:That's not exactly the scenario. I happens during a weld and the engine is at operating speed. It dosen't happen every time, just at the worst times. It is the Kohler Command18 engine.SA200,Ranger8,Trailblazer251NT,MM250,Dayton225AC,T  D-XL75,SpoolMate3545SGA100C,HF-15-1  RFCS-14 When I stick it, it stays stuck!
