Lincoln is ten years old and listed at 1000 with upgraded torch and miller is 5 years old and listed at 1450 obo. If you had to choose What would you do? Probably can get them for 200 less.
Reply:Never used the Lincoln, but I learned on the Syncro 180. It's a good machine, but $1450 seems a bit steep. $1250 is fair, but I've seen used ones go for $1000, It would depend on what came with it and condition..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Guy says the 180sd looks mint and has low hours. Comes with the tig runner. I'll offer 1000 and see what he says.
Reply:I wish I could find a features list for the syncro do I could compare the two. The manual does not have a list and I can't find a sales brochure as it's discontinued.
Reply:I'm not sure what you mean by features. The Sync 180 is a fairly basic dedicated AC/DC tig. You have DC+, DC- and AC in stick and tig. You can adjust the post flow in tig. You have 3 settings for tig start, light, med, and hot. You can look up the arc starts and time welding. You can adjust the dig characteristics for stick or your AC balance for tig. It will run either scratch start (running on stick) or on remote using a finger tip or pedal. I've heard the newest of the 180's had digital displays, not sure on the oldest ones. The ones I used all were digital. The machine doesn't have pulse or preflow adjustment like the Sync 200's do. You can't turn on/off the HF like you can on the older Sync 250's (not sure on the newer ones). You can't adjust the hertz like you can on the inverters liek the Dynasty 200.Has this helped?.No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Yes! Thanks. That's exactly what I was looking for. Seems like the miller has the edge over the 175 square wave. A bit better duty cycle and more adjustability.
