Anybody ever use this? My welding project is outside and after grinding to bare metal is susceptible to the weather. I thought a coat of weld thru primer would keep the rust off.Lincoln 180PowerPro 205SDewalt chop sawGrinders and carbide burrsRookie w/ nice toyz
Reply:Cold galvanizing spray paint is basically the same thing, but quite a bit cheaper. I think it has a little less zinc in it than "real" weld thru does, but somebody with more knowledge can talk to that.Ive used galvanizing spray paint as weld thru before on axle tubes and boat docks. Got to shake the can all the time as the zinc settles to the bottom in a hurry.Wear a mask when welding as the Zinc can do funny things to your brain. |
