Reply:I have the 180c.  I stepped down from a panasonic 260.  I haven't missed the panasonic.  The panasonic was much larger than I needed.Anyway, I like the way the machine welds.  Very smooth and starts very well.  However, the first one I had was sent back, because the power lug would not hold the cord in the machine.  They replaced it without a problem.  I have had the machine for a few months.  On occasion, the fan in the new machine does not start easily.  I'll call them about that problem one day.As long as we are on the topic of lincoln,Customer service has been good.  I ordered the sg100 spoolgun.  It was missing the nut to hold the switch in the machine.  I complained to Lincoln about all the problems and they sent me a new switch plus 20 -1 lbs rolls of 4043 Al wire.  The gun operates well from this machine.
Reply:" A Little Extra ", that makes Raving Customers (fans).  They have been good like that for years.   John G.SMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases.  There all here. :
Reply:I'm new and just beginning to look at welders. I see a boat load of 'new in box' Pro Mig 180s on eBay and apparently at Lowes, but I see no reference at the Lincoln site to the Pro Mig line. So, I can't compare Pro Mig to Power Mig. Is Pro Mig a discontinued model line, and does anyone know the big differentiators between the two? Also, I noticed that 180Cs appear to be less expensive that 180Ts, and I'd think it would be the opposite. As a beginner, amateur and hobby welder, do I care? I'm guessing from my splatter I'm usually about 100% off on voltage anyway. Thanks for any insight. Also, I am an amateur, so if this site is really intended only for professional welders, please let me know. I couldn't find anything to that effect in Terms of Use, About Us or anywhere else. Thanks again.Last edited by Bongo Boy; 11-13-2007 at 12:21 AM.
Reply:Bongo Boy,I bought one of the Pro MIGs off of Ebay and the biggest difference between it and the Power MIGs is the block that holds the drive rolls on the Power MIG is a metal part probably aluminum cast piece and on the one form Lowes is made from plastic and there are a few other small things different. I will say this I have used mine quite a bit and it is a very nice machine. I am not a professional or anything I just do some small repairs and build some small carts and things but if you are just doing hobby work I would say the Pro MIG would be a good choice. Here is 2 links to it on the Lincoln stie on the Pro MIG http://www.mylincolnelectric.com/Cat...t.aspx?p=48149http://content.lincolnelectric.com/p...ature/e727.pdfLast edited by JeepSahara; 11-14-2007 at 09:13 PM.
