Wanted to know if anyone out there using the Weld Tec champagne style nozzle could fit it onto the WP-17 torch. What if I buy the Stubby Gas Lens Collet Body so that I can convert my WP-17 to a WP-9 SIZE.obviously I would buy the collets and everything else that is incorporated with the stubby setup. I searched for it on here but nothing specific as this. Any help would be great.
Reply:Why go down in gas lens size so you can simply put a larger diffuser on your torch?.No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:The Champagne style nozzles or Monster nozzles for the 17 torch are expensive. And HUGE. I think the monster nozzle is 2" and costs over $400. I would like a larger nozzle like the one posted but dont want to pay more than my machine is worth. I need a bit more stickout to get the hard to reach areas. The Champagne nozzle from weld tec is 1-1/4" and somewhere around $50 for the difuser and nozzle, also only made for the 9 torch.
Reply:If you need to reach an area that you can't with a normal cup/gas lens then you might look at the long cups, you could still use a small size but the length of the cup lets you reach down in tight areas.Airco Ac/Dc 300 HeliwelderMillerMatic 200 (stolen)Miller Maxstar 150STLMiller AEAD200LE (welding and generating power) Hobart MIG
Reply:I suggest buying the adapter to use 20 series parts or invest in a 9 which is the same but still air cooled(20 is water cooled), they're cheap and very common. I mainly use a #7-#8 gas lens on my torch's but I do have a CNI or CMI x large large gas lenslike the one you have pictured...it was $40 something... you could use the #12 gas lens for the 17/ 26 series torch... you have some options available... also you can invert some cups and get a larger opening like I did on my 20.. Reply:Has anyone made these parts ?
Reply:CK makes a kit called "large diameter gas saver". Have a look in their catalog (available online) or I just quickly checked and weldfabulous has them. I'm sure others do too:http://www.weldfabulous.com/casearch...eter+gas+saver
