Got my new gadget

Well it finally showed up even though the large magnet was missing from the box I still am able to use the thing....Works pretty good even though the suction isn't as strong as I would have liked......They require it to be 20-40 MM from the weld.  Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig Rock
Reply:Looks interesting. I have looked into buying one of those.Do you have an idea on how many hours of stick welding the filter would last? The replacement filters seem really expensive.

Reply:Not sure bro, but I know that toxic fume Poisoning will be more than a filter...Just checked and the filters are 100Bucks and you check them every coupleMonths.... Reply:They may be 100 bucks there but over here they are 300 bucks for the filter and 1400 bucks for the unit. For a little more I could make a permanent installation for fumes extraction.I like the portability of the system but unless the filters last a while it is not worth it for the prices found here.

Reply:We have a new Lincoln vent system installed at school. It's on a much larger scale but it is nice not having to wear a respirator when welding in your booth for many hours.

Reply:B.C. - since you posted on this I started looking up fume extraction and learned some new stuff.I did not know aluminum was a neurotoxin when welded.
