I'll try to better phrase my previous question about a SA-200 F-163 I'm looking at. The seller has to manipulate the throttle linkage to get it to low idle. When an arc is struck, it speeds up to 1500 rpm, but doesn't spontaneouslyidle down again until he does it manually. It will stay idled until an arc is restruck, speeding it up again. Would this suggest that the idler is workingand it's just a problem in the throttle linkage? or does it sound like it needs a new idler? I'm trying to get a handle on potential repair costs before I make him an offer. Thanks for any input.Bob seND
Reply:Hey right on! Thats already better than my sa 200, When i want to weld have to let it warm up then manipulate the linkage and throttle to bring it up to speed and when im done i have to idle it back down, how much is he asking for this machine?Nothing Ever Got Done By Quitting, Never Give Up.
Reply:does it have the r-57 vacuum idler?
Reply:Doug, He's asking 1K. Bashee, it does have an idler with a rippled rubber boot around the solenoid. It is a magneto machine, and I would guess a hoof governor. Is it likely an idler fault if it won't slow down?An idler upgrade would put it out of the price range for me, as I think it also has a radiator leak and may need to be recored.Bob seND
Reply:At the many auctions I have been to, they bring 1800 to 2500, in any condition, check with a mechanic on the cost and then deside. JohnSMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases. There all here. :
Reply:i just keep mine idled at 1500 rpm all the time |
