Found this mobile generator for just $2500. It should be strong enough to run just about any welder you would want to put on it. It has a cover to keep things dry and out of sight. They have 6 of them as well as bigger generators on skids instead of on trailers. Just looking for the good, the bad, and the ugly of such a set up. Moving a trailer is second nature to me, I can parralel park a hay wagon.....lol. http://www.idahomotorpool.com/pictur...el_Genset1.jpgIf you look at this site you really have to scroll down to the bottom and read the payment options, it will make your day! Thanks, Bill
Reply:No link to a sight but being it's a military generator, it may not have the proper power to run standard equipment. I would look very carefully at the name plate and make sure it's 230 volts and 60Hz(single phase) or common 3 phase power and not 50Hz or some odd voltage the military uses.
Reply:Military generators unlike, civilian can't usually be reconfigured to provide the power specifications needed. I've wanted Delta 3 phase 240/208/120 to run three phase motors. Military generators are often well built, low hours, very well priced. The closest I've found is 208 V Wye connected. Most 240 volt motors will run at lowered torque, but high internal heat on 208 Wye.An optimist is usually wrong, and when the unexpected happens is unprepared. A pessimist is usually right, when wrong, is delighted, and well prepared.
Reply:That generator is a mil 5k. You can get 52 amps of 115v, 26 amps 230v. It is also 3 phase but I don't recall amps . I have identical genny plus the 10k version (4 cylinder).Jerry Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk 230+ yrs Army Infantry & Field Artillery, 25 yrs agoMiller 350LX Tig Runner TA 210, spool gunLincoln 250/250 IdealArcESAB PCM 500i PlasmaKazoo 30" vert BSKazoo 9x16 horiz BSClausing 12x24 lathe20T Air Press
