what kind of oil and how much do i put in the governor on my sa 200. also i was using it the other day and it all the sudden it idled way up and i noticed the governor wasnt working. i took it off and took it apart and it had came apart in side, the two pieces that move up and down had come off the shaft, all i can figure is that the pins that hold them on came out some how i was able to put everything back together and nothing appeared damaged does anyone have any experience with these things or know what might have happened. also does anyone have one they would maybe sell thanks in advance-brettComplete Fabrication Shop specializing in pipe fabrication. Reply:Howdy Scuba,The original Lincoln governor is mounted to the front cover and gear driven. I'm sure that the governor on your hybrid Chevrolet powered welder is a universal belt driven governor. An OE gear driven governor, would be no help to you. Probably any engine oil, flooded to just below the shaft seal, would be a safe bet for lubrication of the belt driven governor.Good Luck
Reply:thanks and this may sound stupid but does it really have to have it........why cant i just idle it at 1400, would that not be steady enoughComplete Fabrication Shop specializing in pipe fabrication. Also offering heavy steel fabrication and sheet metal work.

Reply:Your governor (M9130) is a Pierce 'flyball style' governor. It gets all the oil it needs from its placement on the front cover of the engine. There is a gentleman in Texas with a couple governors for sale. 830-570-0654. New they are somewhere around $600.
