Lincoln Portable what's it worth

Alright my dad knows people and always seems to get hooked up with some deals.  This time some guy is selling off all his tools.Here is what I can get as far as specs.Lincoln 250Number on it "WP 250 GN Pro"Onan Engine.  I don't know how much it has been used but I'm looking for a general idea of what you guys think it would be worth or if you knew anymore info about it.  It's 700 miles away from me so I can't go and look at it myself.
Reply:Bueller, Bueller, anyone?  Can anyone at least help me figure out what model it is?  They want $1200 for it but I want to be able to look up some specs before I make any kind of deals.
Reply:If it looks like a box with almost orange paint on it, I would'nt pay more than $500 for it(hell I bought my first one for $300 in school). I got my last SA-200 for that money(500, not 1200). I am sure you can find a better machine for better money localy if you look.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:Sounds like a Weldanpower, they're all over for 250.00 - 700.00. To me, that engine hurts it too; you can't afford to repair an Onan when it goes. Tozzi's right; Too far and too much. Keep an ear to the ground, plenty more around.Good Luck

Reply:When checking prices locally, to see how good of a deal it is I check Ebay, other auction company's ( Ritchie Brothers offers past auction price results) and trader online.
Reply:This might help. I just purchased an '04 Reddarc GX271 quality assured machine. The specs are as follows: 275 amps at 100% duty cycle 300 at 60%. DC/CC/CV w/chopper technology and remote and feeder connections as well as pipe mode and arc force control. It is a Lincoln with a 20hp Honda. Quality assured means the machine has been gone through and calibrated to factory specs. The machine looks brand new, had 1591 hrs and cost 1800.00 w/30 day warranty I added an extended warranty to one year for 180.00. I haven't had the chance to use it much as I just got it, but from the little I have I don't think I got hurt at all. That is about half of what  new 305G will run you, and at 1600 hours it is barely getting broken in.The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
