Thought I'd start a thread with projects I've worked on. Most of it is all automotive projects as I'm heavily into drag racing diesel trucksHere's a few bumpers I've built

Reply:Sliptank I built under the toolbox with the pump inside the toolbox.Sliptank includes a fuel level sender, I have a fuel level gauge on my pillar to see how much fuel I have left in the slip tank
Reply:Oh WOW! Those are very nice. Not my style, but I can surely appreciate the fabricating skills it takes to build them.Don’t pay any attention to meI’m just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:And just a few pics of the racetruck and my fleet of vehicles lol The Wally I won
Reply:All Diesels
Reply:Beautiful work man! That black duallie is bad azz! I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys
Reply:Very cool stuff! I like the way the pump is hidden in the tool box!GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.
Reply:Cool stuff!  What brand of paint are you using in most of those pics?
Reply:It's box liner I spray on the bumpers. Scorpion coatings. Great stuff I use it on a lot of different things.
Reply:The thing that caught my eye was that who ever coated your slip tank didn't take much care to not get it down inside the thread couplings.   Should have put some threaded pipe plugs in before spraying the tank.   I probably would have taken care to mask off where the sending unit bolts on also.
Reply:Everything looks good to me! Glad to see another automotive guy on the forum. How do you build the bumpers, are the CAD designed or just start building and see where it goes?
Reply:I have my own setup to spray boxliner. It's only the fill tube where there's liner in the threads. Thread sealant on the fill neck sealed it off just fine. No leaking there. Sending unit holes I drilled bigger than the little bolts that go through there for a reason. The bolts went through there perfectly
Reply:Yup just start building on the truck. They're all roughly the same size so it's pretty easy. Cut with plasma
Reply:I need a plasma after I get my TIG. They are invaluable it seems haha. I could build these around here for days.
Reply:Awesome work, really like the bumpers!
Reply:Awesome work, I too like the black Dodge.TOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
Reply:What kind of times and mph did your race truck run?....Miller Dynasty 200Millermatic 211Instagram?.... find me @ WELD_MEDIC
Reply:Fastest to date on stock turbo was 11.71 @ 114MPH, I switched to twin turbos a month ago. Hopefully hit the track in two weeks when it opens up here.
Reply:The quality of the craftsmanship to your fab work is phenomenal! Very neat.
Reply:Absolutely beautiful work!!!!   On a side note however, those first few pictures with the big trucks, will probably never see a day of dirt or off-road ever. Reply:Thanks guys, actually the black/grey one sees frequent off road action in the mountains when going quadding, and the blue one is a fulltime hot shot truck pulling a gooseneck to drilling sites, which can be very muddy and/or rough terrain. My dually doesn't see off road much, it only ever pulls the big race trailer down the highway, the daily driver however goes through mud anytime it rains here on the farm haha
Reply:Like so... lolLast edited by Dudgy; 05-15-2014 at 12:17 PM.
Reply:First race of 2014 and finished 2nd on Saturday and 3rd on Sunday. Great weather, what a good feeling to jump in the race truck again. Also bought a 33' fifth wheel camper. Going to build a little quad trailer soon to haul the toys behind the camper. Will update as I progress. Miller 252 MIGHypertherm Plasma
