I am selling one used Smith heavy duty acetylene regulator. Stock number HB1521B-510. It has a brand new Smith Hard Hat (guage protector). Although the stock number says "510", it DOES NOT have a "CGA 510" fitting on it. It DOES have a "CGA 300" fitting on it. Both guage faces are bent a little. The needles DO work, but they stop prematurely because they end up rubbing on the face plate. I used it last about four months ago and it worked fine other than what I have already stated. It is being sold "as is" with no warranty, expressed or implied. Price is $75.00USD + shipping."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:It's pretty easy to remove the guard, remove the gauge covers (if you have the small Torx bit), inspect for internal damage, push the faceplates straight, reinstall the brass covers, push them straight, reinstall the clear covers, and toss the guard back on. Worst case, new gauges are dirt cheep, as are CGA 510 nipple/nut packs from Western Enterprises or an adapter for those who want to use it with larger cylinders.OAdoctor's site has the preferred, safer FILTERED nipples and I'm sure can get the adapter "Western Brass Cylinder Adaptor CGA-510 to CGA-300 part number WESWD-51"or any other Western product:http://www.regulatortorchrepair.com/...nut-and-nipple
