Hello all. I am new to the forum and in need of help. I have a Lincoln Square Wave TIG 255. My problem is that I can not lower the amperage on the display. None of the down keys work on the panel. Does anyone have any experience with this machine that has experienced the same problem? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!SB
Reply:Can you change it with Remote?DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Yes, I can change it via foot pedal. Everything else seems to be working correctly other than that. I did take the covers off and do a visual to be sure it wasn't something obvious like a loose wire or something. No such luck.
Reply:So when you touch the local button, your saying you can't use the up/down buttons? There is nothing inside of the machine for you to inspect or repair!!
Reply:I would suspect the panel itself. Membrain keys are not the most reliable.DennisThermal Arc 185-TSWMillermatic Challenger 172VictorO/AAtlas Craftsman 12 by 24 LatheEsab PCM-875Wholesalem Tool Mill-Drill
Reply:Reboot...Bet you would never see that on a welding forum It is not common but micro controllers can lock up also. A firm reboot of the unit will force it to clear out if that is the problem. Its a long shot, but worth a try if you can.Me!
Reply:call lincoln tech support...they have always been very helpful on issues for me.Yeah, yeah, I know you are a weldor too. But, are you a good one?
Reply:Looking through the service manual, I'd think your machine has to go in for service, and get repaired by a qualified Lincoln tech. |
