i bought one of the ones with gold color torch tip and just saw one with black whats the difference between the two?
Reply:My WAG is that what you're looking at is the 'nozzle' and not the tip. The gold colored nozzle would be a bronze like nozzle that contains and directs the gas to the tip and weld bead, only if you were using shielding gas. With true flux core it's just a thing hanging on there as there is no gas to direct. The black one now is probably a synthetic protector. It's slides over the gas diffuser (if the torch has one) to protect it from spatter and coincidental contact with the metallic surroundings. Again just a guess."The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
Reply:hey thannks for the info do you think i can use a tweco gc 200 clamp i have instead of the trash clamp
Reply:Almost any clamp you can attach your work lead to would be better. You just don't want to take a step backwards by doing some garbage connection from the cable to the clamp. It all matters."The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
