? Cleaning white etching on aluminum

Is there anything out there for cleaning the white cleaning action left behind when welding aluminum?Welding shinny .065 diamond plate and have been knocking off white scale with fine steel wool and buffing out. Reply:I cant help you on removing it. I would work on minimizing the stuff. I can get the etching down to next to nothing on polished material. I dont know why, but my guess is that there is less surface area in polished material so its easier to dial it in so the ac doesn't etch it as much (or at all- like you can get with outside corners)  Tungsten prep is probably 95% of it.Last edited by travisc454; 04-21-2014 at 11:24 AM.www.performancealuminumfabrication.com
