does anybody know how the grind eze solenoid wires up on the old r-57 idler's? I upgraded a 66 redface with weldtrons kit and am planning on putting the grind eze on the 60 model i have. I dont remember how the grind eze was wired up originally. I know one wire goes to the 115 plug but not sure about the other wire. thanks.
Reply:I am going to take a guess at this one, It seems that in order to sense a load, it would have to be in series with the outlet.but that is only a guess based on how I would design a load sensing idler. If this thing has only 2 wires I am way off base.Do you have a picture?Joewww.CummingsHauling.com
Reply:here is one of the grind ease and a few of the original setup.
Reply:Does the coil on that valve have any markings on it? And what gauge are the wires coming out of it?Joewww.CummingsHauling.com
Reply:nah, red and black wires, no polarity markings. i know the red wire goes to the outlet, just not sure about the black wire. the wires are 14 guage.
Reply:I would say disconnect the negative wire going to your receptacle and attach the red wire from the coil on your grind eze to the negative terminal of the receptacle. then connect the black wire from the coil to the negitive wire that used to run to the negative screw of the receptacle.Basically just put it in series with your outlet.I didn't know that the grind eze had it's own solenoid valve. That is why I was thinking the first answer was wrong. I was thinking that the grind eze triggered the stock coil on the R-57Oh and if by chance it doesn't work, swap the red and black leads.Joewww.CummingsHauling.com |
