Picked up a used Milwaukee Deep Cut portable band saw recently off craigslist. (can't believe how awesome these things are)Anyway like many before me I decided to make a table for it.Its .125 wall 1" tube with a 3/16" plate top.Table surface is 1' square. It mounts to the saw by a notch that fits into the air vent as shown in pictures and it will have a nut on the bottom that tights to the guide of the saw to lock it all in place. I got the idea from the SWAG offroad table. All cuts were made with the portable band saw.

Reply:Looking good, Need to get myself one of these !
Reply:Looks good, nice job on the layout for the contour of the saw.TOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
Reply:All finished aside from painting it buts its crummy out today so I will get back to it.Welded with Hobart 210 MVP on 110v max voltage.I'm more pleased with this build personally than anything i've built to date. Finally got the hang of using my new mig and it just came out much better than I thought it would.I do have to give credit to SWAG Offroad for the mounting design as much as I would like to say I came up with it, I didn't.Anyway heres the timeline of assembly.Gave the parts a nice acid bathFitupTackedWeldedTapping hole for mounting boltTable stitch welded on
Reply:Finished ProductIt does have VERY slight play in it side to side (probably 1/32"). But realistically its very tight and won't give you any problems cutting. You can lift the table and carry it around by the saw no problem.I also want to add rubber strips or bumpers to the bottom because it does slide a bit with the metal on metal.Last edited by BrooklynBravest; 06-04-2014 at 10:20 AM.
Reply:Very nice! Is 1 bolt enough to hold it steady while cutting?GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.

Reply:Looking good! You oughta work up something on the order of a removable fence along either (or both) edges of the table to incorporate an adjustable miter gauge that will track on the fence.Fence would have to be exactly parallel to the saw blade.  That would be real handy for making miter cut ends, and being removable just makes it a "use when needed" accessory. After plotting out the path for the fence, drill indexing holes in the table and fence, then weld a couple of fixed dowels onto the fence so it just drops in the same spot each time.  Then you can just use simple clamps to hold it firm while in use.Just a thought.
Reply:Looks good!! I'm just pondering on the cut you made to slide your blade through. Shouldn't it be a little bigger?Millermatic 211Dewalt 14" ChopsawDewalt 4 1/2" GrinderCraftsman

Reply:With surgical precision I used an angle grinder and 2 straight edges to widen the blade slot.Side note, apparently sticking a zip disc into a slot almost as thick as the disc is very dangerous...  Sent my grinder flying 6 feet.

Reply:Great job on that.
Reply:I give up on spray paint. Its absolute garbage and never dries hard.I have to sandblast this whole thing now because rustoleum "fast drying enamel" won't harden.
Reply:Will a bath of muriatic acid strip the paint or do I need to sand blast?
Reply:Was able to strip all the paint off using Citistrip and a cup brush on the grinderUsing brush on Rust-O oil based enamel now.The table top will be black and the bottom half red. (MilwaukeeColors)Also using the bench light as a heat lamp to speed the process works great those things areHot.Also the thickness of the paint should eat up the play in the mounting of the table, lastlyI picked up stick on rubber feet to finish it all off when done.Last edited by BrooklynBravest; 06-07-2014 at 11:54 PM.

Reply:Milwaukee Colorsgood looking table you have there, you should find a lot of uses for it.When I made my table I used two hack saw blades side by side in the saw fram and cut my slot by hand, gives all the room needed for the blade.Joe

Reply:FinishedWidened and elongated the blade slotAdded rubber feet so it doesn't slide. ($2.50 at home depot)Finished productThe blade is slightly out of square but its close enough for my needs and im pretty satisfied for the limited tools I have to build these things.
