I'm looking for a stator for a bobcat 225G plus. The part number is 179500 (i think)I have looked and cant find a new one or a used one. Thanks guys
Reply:I guess I should have snapped to it based on your unit's SN but you didn't mention it was a 225G Plus. There are a few differences between it and the schematic I was referring to in troubleshooting based on a plain 225G.That said, there's a 4-pin plug that the stator exciter voltage and brush supply voltage goes thru. Check that for bad/corroded connections/terminals.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Well you can disregard my previous post as I've seen your stator photos in the other thread. MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:lol.Sorry, I did not know it was a "plus" until today.
Reply:I still have not found a stator for this welder. It would be great if someone could help.I called that Larry guy 4 or 5 times and gave up on that angle
Reply:Can't answer for Larry but I predict you'll have quite a time finding one so I'd recommend a rewind by Eurton http://eurtonelectric.com/ as I suggested in your other thread.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Thanks.I put the motor on ebay and if it don't sell I will continue to try and fix it.I think it will sell. There are 5 people watching it. Someone wants it.But like i said, if it don't, I will do a rewind
Reply:What are the proper steps to getting the motor off the unit?
Reply:1) Drain oil and remove the two motor mount bolts from the engine base pan.2) Disconnect engine control harness plug at bulkhead and battery cables from battery and engine base.3) Disconnect fuel line.(No photo - mine runs on LP).4) Remove brush holder (located in here).5) Remove the nuts from the four stator-to-motor adapter thru bols.Seperate engine from stator housing by prying apart and sliding engine/rotor out of stator.6) Seperate rotor from engine by turning rotor CCW. Use wrench on flats on bearing end of rotor and strike wrench with hammer using sharp blows.May have to hold engine flywheel being careful not to break any cooling fins.7) Remove engine-to-stator housing adapter. That's it and should take no more than 20-30 minutes.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Man, this is great info. Thank you
Reply:The motor was easy to get out per your instructions. Thank you.I'm not sure about getting the rotor off the motor.Do I need to take out the bolts were the rotor meets the motor or should it just twist off?
Reply:Never mind. I got it.I just had to MAN up and stop hitting it with my purse.
