I have a old miller CP-250ts I got it at a auction with a old dialarc hf-p I have no use for this tank of a power supply. Im not exactly sure what this thing is worth i was thinking $500 was a fair price. Im located about 30miles north of Indianapolis in Indiana I can ship this but it is heavy and will have to be shiped truck freight weighs 680#I can provide pictures if you are interested  Please feel free to make me a offer i wont be offended
Reply:The CP-250TS is a three phase unit and typically doesn't bring much as a result.  For example, I gave way less than that for four working units that came with three working wire feeders/guns, two working portable feeders, a couple flow meters and a bunch of cable.  Gave two of them away FWIW.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:yes it is 3 phase and figured that it will be hard to get rid of so Im open to offers
Reply:I doubt you'll get anywhere near $500 IMO.  Even if a prospective buyer has three phase avavilable they still need a wirefeeder (another $2-300) and a gun too if one doesn't come with the feeder (another $100) putting the total investment at or above what a newer, smaller, more portable unit of equal capacity.Local craigslist may be your best bet.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:I'd have a poke at the Dave Kamp conversion. This is in progress but he's done other Millers:http://www.practicalmachinist.com/vb...-phase-206509/Too bad you aren't closer to SC. I'd like to grab a cheap old three-phase Miller and do one for fun and education.
Reply:I sold my CP250TS about 3 years ago for $200, power supply only, no feeder.  It must have been a great deal cause it sold right away.  The guy bought it sight unseen from about 800 miles away, sent his brother in a truck to give me the cash and pick up  the machine.  All I did was take a couple pics and put an ad in craig's list and it was gone.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:Actually, one of the guys I gave one to did a slightly different phase conversion that turned out quite nice for $115 in output capacitors and some wiring modifications.  He's still using a makeshift weld output choke and plans to eventually make a permanent one if he doesn't find a used one first.I've welded with it with fluxcore right after he got it done and was very impressed.  He has since obtained a tank of C25 and has been using solid wire with very successful results but I haven't welded with it with the solid wire yet.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Has anyone done a back to back comparison between a stock and modified CP250TS?  They weld so awesome as designed that I would be very afraid to do anything at all to one and end up with something that doesn't weld as nice as original.  The only justification to having a massive beast like that is that, one, it welds purely awesome, and two, it has 100% duty cycle at 250 amps!  Compromise either of those things even the slightest and it's not worth it to put up with the size, weight and waste of power.  An XMT would be a better choice if you need a good mig power supply that can run single phase and has good arc quality and duty cycle.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:DR33 - my friend (Dan) that modified his did it because . . . it was free!  I gave it to him for the many things he's given or done for me.  His only investment was an hours time and $115 in new capacitors.  Pretty cheap 200A (estimated maximum modified output) unit that as I said I was VERY impressed with its modified performance.  With the little welding I did with it and the addition of output capacitors I believe its arc performance to be on par with any quality single phase MIG.  As for duty cycle, if anything I would think it should go up due to a slightly reduced output.  ???  The huge fans in those bad bears move a lot of air and have always kept them running "cool" relatively speaking. They're a big old heavy beast (640#) and Dan has a trailer mounted three-phase generator that he could run it off but didn't want to drag it out to fire it up every time he wanted to do a quick weld job so he gave the modification a shot and was very successful IMO.  The unit sits in a corner of his shop and he just needs to drag the feeder out to where he's working and have at it.  FWIW. Reply:Weight is only a problem if you don't have big enough wheels on the cart. Power is cheap, and they aren't absurdly large. The only justification to having a massive beast like that is that, one, it welds purely awesome,

Reply:Thanks, but I keep falling into equipment for dirt cheap and will wait for one at near scrap or for barter. Those feeders are good stuff too. We have a couple on old white face CP-300s at work.
