I guess there like anything else, when they are new they work great when they get old the wear out and do not work that well any more.Replaced the regulator,3 different bottles of 75/25,new liner, new tips and shields.Played withe the gas pressure, less and more amps, clean the ground connections, cleaned the wire feed and tryed different adjustments. Will not lay a good bead any more and it has porosity in it.In the past it would .030 to 3/8" no problem, mild steel and SS, it even would feed alum. wire and weld alum. fine.I have patched up many car and truck bodies and frames threw the years with good results.Doing a lot of sheet metal patching now .040, both pieces are clean and wiped with acetone.Looks like c**p.How are the new Miller 140's or the HTP mig welders.Looking for one that will feed .025 wire,Not flux wire. |
