Lincoln Weld-Pak 3200HD (SP135) - Heat Adj Knob Upgrade??

Is it possible to upgrade the 4 position tapped(A,B,C,D) heat setting adjustment knob on this model to a potentiometer style (fine adjustment)??  If so does anyone have a DIY or part numbers/links...Thanks in advance Sorry the thread title should read SP135T not the 135....Last edited by Holden McNeil; 05-06-2008 at 01:53 PM.

Reply:No, it's really not. That's the difference betwen your machine and something like the SP 175 plus. Both use a transformer but the 175+ uses a control board to bring the power up and down with a front panel-mounted pot. Best to sell your machine and replace it with a Miller or Lincoln that has the separate power control. When I bought my SP175+ I specifically looked for that feature. It cost a bit more but I got the feature that made the difference for me.
